Spring has sprung

Aerro came down for a visit (Spring Break); she had come for some refueling and hammock time. We didn't do much, but it was so nice to have her here. Bliss was called to serve as the Bishop, which is cool...weird, but cool. Beaux is getting ready to start a new career, Patrick is on the road again. Kyle and Matthew are elsewhere, Dusty is cold and Aerro is starting school. we've planted potatoes and are waiting for the last spring freeze to plant the rest of the garden. That about covers it.

Happy New Year!

Happy new year everyone! i hope that this coming year brings happiness for the whole family. the new years fairy came and brought lots of little things for my little monsters. norman lost his collar somewhere in the yard and after an exhaustive search i still couldn't find it anywhere! so he and daisy (because hers was getting slimy, don't know why) now have brand new collars! they also got matching sweaters. although norman's has blue stripes and daisy's has pink.
daisy by the way has turned into a little fatty. i don't know when it happened but i was washing her the other day and i looked at her and i was like wow! her old collar must have been very slimming because i didn't notice it until i took it off of her to wash her.
chirstmas this year was lots of fun. i was up with kyle's family and while i had a good time, there is nothing like being home for christmas and i hope that i'll get to do that soon. kyle was with us through the internet. so he got to see up opening our presents and share in a little bit of family fun.
he is doing well over in iraq. having a good time with his friend and happy that they are able to be there together.
as for me, well, i'm just me. i've been up at kyle's moms house for about 2 weeks now and i'm missing home. i've had a great time and i'm looking forward to our next visit, but i miss my own house and my bed.
happy new year everyone, and have a happy ugly day!

Updates that Dad is aware of...

Let's see....

Tonite I quit the committee for Troop 36. It's been about 14 years, and I just felt it was time. I did tell Robert Kilgore that I want to work the rodeo in February.

Patrick has traded his silver Silverado truck in for a black one that's two years newer. I hope he likes it!

Beaux and Gina tell me they got an awesome deal on a new storm door for their house. I need to put some in at our house also.

Matthew and Dusty seem to be doing alright. Dusty has emailed me at work a couple of times, since she got got her govt. email address.

And Aerro has already put what she is doing on here. I appreciate her sharing her chicken pot pie recipe! BTW, say hi to Kyle!

aerro's chicken pot pie recipe

2 chicken breasts cooked and cut up
1 bags of frozen peas and carrots
1 can cream of chicken soup

crust:
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 cup bisquick or jiffy mix

heat oven to 375 mix chicken, veggies, and soup together in a 9x13
in a seperate bowl mix crust ingredients and pour over chicken soup mixture evenly
bake in oven for about 45 min to an hour depending on how it cooks just make sure the crust is cooked all the way through the top will brown but you can put some tinfoil over it after 45 min to keep it from getting to brown.

kyle and i eat this all the time we love it you can add other veggies like potatoes or green beans or whatever, i like it with just the peas and carrots though. it's pretty cheap to make if you use the jiffy baking mix instead of bisquick.

cool book i'm reading

hi everyone! its aerro and i was reading this book that i thought was really great its called why gender matters: what parents and teachers need to know about the emerging science of sex differences by leonard sax. anyway, its really good. i understand the men in my life so much better. i even understand myself better. for example, boys cant hear as well as girls. so when i'm talking to kyle and he always tells me he cant hear me when i feel like i'm talking at a reasonable level. also it talks about how the brain functions differently and how men and women use it differently. what i really like about it is that when he says something he always tells where he got it from and from when. anyway, 23 days to halloween!! are the pumpkin trees starting to bloom?

The Family Blog

It's a new family blog site. I've sent everyone an email telling you how to get in. I'll set up a Picassa folder for the blog, probably tomorrow. You will be able to load pictures to it and then link them to the blog page.
